SwSh (Sword and Shield), except for Pikachu, which is LGPE. In a future update this will be changed to a mix of USUM (Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon) and SwSh.

This is because of how Pokémon Essentials works with your AMD GPU. This will be fixed in Pokémon Essentials v20, but we won't be upgrading to it for the foreseeable future. First, it took us a few months to upgrade from v15 (October 2021 to February 2022) and we wanted to focus on other areas of the game that needed improvement, and second, it would take a while for plugin updates to be compatible with v20 as well. Thank you for your understanding.

If the patch is a zip file, extract its contents to the game folder and replace the files when prompted to apply the patch. You don't need to browse through each folder one by one. If it's just a file, follow the instructions in the message from which you downloaded the patch.

Joiplay FAQ (2.28 or earlier)

Question 1: How to use auto-save files?

First, go to the location where the save file is stored, ie:

For PC: C:\Users\username\Saved Games\Fire Ash. Remember to replace the word "Username" with your name, or your name on your PC. The game uses "Game.rxdata". Autosave will be called "Game_autosave.rxdata" instead. To use autosave, first move the file called "Game.rxdata" to another location on your PC, then rename "Game_autosave.rxdata" to "Game.rxdata". This is where the game was last autosaved when you loaded the game.

For Android: The folder where all of Fire Ash's content is stored. After that, the steps to use autosave are the same on both Android and PC.

  4. Open Joiplay and press the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  5. For Name, type Fire Ash, and for Version, type the version you downloaded, such as 2.28.
  6. For the executable, look for a file named Game.exe in the folder you extracted from the zip file. select it.
  7. For the icon, use whatever you want or leave it blank. Press "Add".
  8. You will have the option to extract the RGSS archive or not. Press "Yes" because this is the setup you need if you want to tackle the Battle of Gary yourself.
  9. A new icon will appear in the main menu. Pressing it will load Fire Ash if you followed the steps correctly.
  10. Enjoy playing Ashes of Fire!

But if you have a low-end phone, then Joiplay probably isn't for you; we won't be able to do anything for you because it will be a third-party issue.

Note when updating your game: your save files are stored in the same folder where your game data is stored. You can still use it when a new update is available; just move your saved files to the new version folder.

Question 3: I lost a training match and my Pokémon disappeared. How can I solve it?

This has mostly been fixed after 2.25, but there may still be some games that haven't been fixed, so remember to save the game often. However, if you're using a version prior to 2.25, to avoid this in the first place, you should save before engaging in battles that limit the number of Pokémon you can use, such as gym battles and leagues. If you find that you lose a Pokemon after a battle, press F12 immediately to avoid this error.

Question 4: Why can't I use my bike, plane or something else?

Because you are most likely using a version earlier than 2.28. If yes, please update your game first. Afterwards, check to see if Pikachu is stalking you. If so, Faint/White will no longer follow you for wild Pokemon and Pikachu, so you can use the bike instead.

Question 5: I beat Flint in Sunnyshore City, but the guy standing in front of the gym didn't leave. How can I solve it?

You are using an older version of the game, but to avoid screwing up the game further, do the following before updating to 2.28: Go to the mansion on Route 222 (west of Sunnyshore City) and clear it.

Question 6: I've noticed that sometimes wild pokemon don't do anything. is this normal?

Yes. This is perfectly conscious and normal.

Question 7: I updated to the latest version, but my Pokémon was lost due to a time-limited battle bug. Why hasn’t my Pokémon come back?

The error was not resolved when you updated the game. Your Pokemon are still missing, so you'll still get the same error.

Question 8: I updated my game, but Ash's sprite looks weird! Is this a bug?

This happens because the costumes were changed at some point and the game was updated from a very old version. You have to wait until you get to Hoenn and buy a new suit to fix it. If you're already in Alola, go to your room and change through the dresser. Also, if Pikachu follows you, put your team in the PC, replace it with a weaker Pokémon, and lose in the wild. Pikachu will disappear.

Question 9: Can I play Galar updates on my phone?

You can try, but you may run into game-breaking issues that don't exist in the PC version.
