When you start a new match of Elden Ring, your map is completely blank and it's up to you to fill it. As you venture through each area of the game's open world, you may come across map fragments. These items unlock a full map of the area you find them in, complete with drawings of the terrain, structures, roads, mines, ruins, and other notable points of interest.
Finding these map fragments is extremely beneficial: not only do they make it easier to progress in each area, but they also help you locate and get to locations where valuable pieces of loot can be found, such as new weapons or spells. So we've put together this detailed guide that includes everything you need to know about how to find map fragments, as well as the location of each map fragment in the Elden Ring.
Elden Ring: how to find map fragments
While the task of finding Map Fragments inantique ringIt sounds daunting, it's actually not a very difficult process. They will always be located in front of aguide trail, which is atall stone resembling a monolith covered in runic writing. In particular, these structures are alsoalways near or next to a road, so if you walk the routes of an area, you'll likely find the map fragment for that area.
It's also important to note that as you venture further and further into a new region, the fog that covers it on the map will begin to dissipate anda drawing of a guide trail can be revealed on the map. This represents the region's map fragment location, so if you see the guide trail icon, place a waypoint and travel there immediately.

The Liurnia map fragment, this can be foundat the southern end of the region's swampy area next to an abundance of water lilies and blue flowers. He is surrounded by some enemies, so make sure you take them out before trying to grab the map fragment.

To get Liurnia, West Map Fragment, you will need to travel upalong the road west of the region towards Caria Manor. There are no enemies near the Guide Stele, so you should be able to get the Map Fragment without any problem.

You will find the map fragment just before the start of the secondary path that leads to Redmane Castle.

The huge monster on top of the building is constantly shooting projectiles and the zombie-like enemies are dangerous, so we recommend running towards the building as quickly as possible to get the map fragment.
