Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (2023)

It's no secret thatdark soulsthe games are challenging. The legendary FromSoftware series has made a name for itself through huge gothic environments filled with brutal enemies. Players arrive in the world with little more than a sword, armor, and ago find themattitude.black souls 3is not an exception. Here you'll find the Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest.

The third installment in the series is equally masochistic, full of colossal beasts waiting to crush anyone foolish enough to cross their path. The bosses in this game can be brutal, but which ones are the toughest?

Well, we decided to answer that question once and for all. We've put together this list ofblack souls 3bosses ranked by difficulty to help prepare your Ashen One for the trials to come.

Dark Souls 3 Bosses ranked from easiest to hardest

A few quick notes before we get started. This list will have allblack souls 3Ranked bosses including DLC. This means that each head ofariandel ashesythe ringed cityIt will be included. We'll mark it as DLC so players with the basic version of the game won't waste time looking for them.

Also, different builds and playstyles are more advantageous in certain fights. Don't be surprised if your character finds it easier or harder to deal with a specific boss than our list suggests.

Now make sure you have all the Estus Flasks and get ready to dodge because it's time to list theblack souls 3Bosses sorted from easiest to hardest!

25. Judge Gundyr

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (1)

Location:ash cemetery

First on our ranked bosses listdark souls3 has to offer is Iudex Gundyr. He's the first boss you face in the game, so it's no surprise that he's first on our list.

He begins as a great knight who has been paralyzed by thecurled sword🇧🇷 Removing the weapon initiates the fight, giving the player a rare chance to get their bearings before the battle begins and even make some opening attacks as Gundyr rises.

It changes shape at approximately 50% health, sprouting a huge black growth with a mouse's face and a white root-like claw. Beautiful.

24. Vordt do Vale Boreal

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (2)

Location:High Wall of Lothric

Do you want to fight an armored frog turtle with a giant mace? Well, you'll have to if you want to get to the Undead Settlement.

Vordt of the Boreal Valley is the second boss you'll faceblack souls 3🇧🇷 It's not too difficult, as you can stay out of range of most of his attacks simply by getting under him and dodging when he attacks. He also has an icy breath attack that can be dodged relatively easily.

23. Great Curse Rottenwood

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (3)

Location:living dead settlement

The Great Curse Rotten Forest is the first optional boss you're likely to encounter in ablack souls 3play through It is a ruined monster tree, filled with curses from the inhabitants of the Undead Settlement who worship it. You must defeat him to get thetransposition oven, a device that allows you to trade Boss Souls with Ludleth in exchange for weapons, rings, and spells at Firelink Shrine.

There's a cluster of pustules on your...inguinal region...which serves as Greatwood's main hitbox. You'll need to focus your attacks there, avoiding the boss's branch-like arms and the acid that dropped during your slam into the ground. You'll also be surrounded by undead worshipers who will attack you once the fight starts, so keep an eye out for that.

Greatwood is by far the easiest optional boss, but it's important to beat him if you want some of the best gear in the game.

22. Ancient Wyvern

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (4)

Location:Archdragon's Peak

We didn't want to put this fight at the bottom of the list because getting to the Ancient Wyvern isn't the easiest thing in the world. You'll have to navigate a series of passages while dodging his fiery breath and fighting smaller enemies along the way, but it's not really a boss fight. In fact, if you manage to get to the top of Archdragon Peak and perform a drop attack on its head, you'll take it out in one fell swoop.

You have the option to fight the beast head-on, but it's still not as challenging by the standards of other late-game bosses.

21. Yhorm, the Giant

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (5)
(Video) Ranking the Dark Souls 3 Bosses from Easiest to Hardest [#1-19]

Location:desecrated capital

Yhorm the Giant is another crafty boss type like the Ancient Wyvern. The "lone lord of the Desecrated Capital" seems very intimidating at first. He is one of the five Lords of Cinder and looks like an absolute monster. There's a lot of buildup from the moment you see this giant Ringwraith-looking behemoth in the game's opening cutscene. Unfortunately, this accumulation is not much.

A powerful weapon calledstorm ruler(demon soulsretreating) is seated beside the throne of Yhorm. Using this weapon's special art can take down the giant in four to six hits.

20. Sage Crystal

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (6)

Location:path of sacrifices

Going back to the first bosses in the game, we have number twenty on our list. Crystal Sage is our first encounter with a magic user, and she is a mandatory boss who blocks the entrance to the Cathedral of the Deep.

The sage manifests as a dark and wild witch. She will shoot bolts of magic at you and teleport across the field. He will start summoning doppelgangers at half his health, although damaging them will not reduce the health bar.

Crystal Sage isn't an especially difficult boss, though it does offer some unique challenges that players haven't faced prior to this point in the game.

19. Deacons of the Deep

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (7)

Location:cathedral of the depths

Here are a few more animals that look more difficult than they really are. The deacons are a congregation dedicated to defending the soul of the archdeacon. However, don't be intimidated by their numbers. Individual deacons are very weak.

It takes a second to figure out the secret to damaging them, but the battle takes no time when you do. Eventually, the Archdeacon speaks and the other deacons surround him with a shield of flesh from their own decrepit bodies. Simple hack and roll tactics are all you need to get this in the bag.

18. Highlord Wolnir

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (8)

Location:Catacombs of Carthus

Next on our list is High Lord Wolnir. This boss is either incredibly easy or extremely difficult, depending on how good your timing is.

Wolnir is a giant skeleton with three glowing bracelets that might as well say "hit me" on each of his wrists. They aren't difficult to attack on their own, but you have to beware of Wolnir's poisonous breath (which kills you as soon as the gauge fills). You can't be too cautious - take too long and he'll draw a huge sword and summon his legions of smaller skeletal warriors who will make the fight exponentially more difficult.

17. Halflight, Spear of the Church (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (9)

Location:the ringed city

Halflight, Spear of the Church is the first boss DLC to appear on our list. She is also the easiest. Halflight is a unique boss because things can play out very differently depending on whether you play online or offline.

The fight starts with summoning an enemy. Offline, you'll just have to fight a basic NPC that probably won't give you much trouble. Online, there is a chance that an opposing player will be drafted. This obviously changes the potential difficulty of the fight and makes it impossible to rate, but you can always switch to offline mode if you're having too much trouble.

However, Halflight is very easy. She fires some projectiles and has some slash attacks that are pretty telegraphed. It's just a matter of dodging and waiting for an opening.

16. Old Demon King

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (10)

Location:steamy lake

Remember Demon Firesage from the startdark souls🇧🇷 The Old Demon King is what happens when you put a crown on him.

The Old Demon King is a giant flaming beast with a large club, which he is more than willing to beat you with. He has some pretty massive flaming AOE attacks that can be hard to avoid until you get the hang of his rhythms.

(Video) Ranking the Difficulty of the Dark Souls 3 Bosses (w/Ashes of Ariandel & The Ringed City)

Ranged classes will have a much easier time with the Old Demon King, but melee characters can take him down with a little patience and a lot of dodging.

15. Abyss Watchers

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (11)

Location:farron tower

Abyss Watchers represent a huge leap in difficulty, as they appear very early in the game. They are bodies possessed by the soul of one of the five Lords of Cinder that you must defeat to gain access to the Catacombs of Carthus. these threetransmitted bloodLooking at mom can never be a real headache. They glide across the arena with sweeping attacks that can be difficult to avoid.

However, the struggle does not end with his defeat. Phase two of the battle begins with all three enemies combined into one super Abyss Watcher wielding a flaming sword and a much more aggressive temper.

Pro Tip: Keep an eye out for red-eye Abyss Watcher behavior.

14. Gravetender Champion and Gravetender Greatwolf (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (12)

Location:Ariandel's Painted World

Our second DLC boss is Champion Gravetender and Greatwolf Gravetender. This boss is actually a collection of creatures, starting with the Gravetender and three common wolves. Gravetender will summon Great Wolf as soon as you reduce him to 50% health.

The Gravetender and normal wolves are common enemies. The Big Wolf is the only real threat here, but it can be quite challenging, especially if you don't take out the Gravetender quickly. The last thing you want is to fight all these monsters at once.

13. Dancer of the Boreal Valley

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (13)

Location:High Wall of Lothric

The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is an interesting fight. It is a cloaked undead creature that carries two large swords that it uses in sweeping attacks.

The opening fight sequence is deceptively easy. Dancer has plenty of large windows for you to deal significant damage to, lulling you into a false sense of security. However, everything changes when you enter phase two. Dancer starts out using combinations of long, arching strikes that are hard to dodge, deal massive damage, and last a long time.

12. Aldrich Eater of Gods

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (14)

Location:miss london

The next magic user on our list is much more difficult. Players will fondly look back on the time spent battling the Crystal Sage when it comes time to face Aldrich, Devourer of Gods.

Aldrich is another Lord of Cinder, and a very tough fight if you don't have the patience. She will shoot some magic beams at you and rain down magic arrows. Staying within melee range to avoid provoking his ranged attacks helps a lot.

11. Gundyr Champion

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (15)

Location:neglected graves

This boss is where the real challenges begin. Do you remember Iudex Gundyr from the beginning of the game? Well, would you like to go back in time when he was in his prime?

If you've had a problem with Iudex, Champion Gundyr will pay you back. He uses many of the same types of attacks, only much, much faster. He gives you very little time to recover, and his moves often result in a chain stun that can take you ages to recover, if at all.

10. Dragonslayer Armor

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (16)

Location:Lothric Castle

Next on our list ofblack souls 3ranked bosses are Dragonslayer Armor. As you might have guessed from the name, this boss is covered in heavy armor from head to toe. He also carries a massive hatchet and a shield that probably weighs around a hundred pounds. To make matters worse, shells will start bombarding the bridge in phase two, adding another level of difficulty.

(Video) All Dark Souls 3 Bosses Ranked Easiest to Hardest

The ax isn't the worst thing in the world, but that shield can be a nightmare.

9. Oceiros, the Consumed King

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (17)

Location:Garden of the Consumed King

Oceiros is one of the toughest bosses in the game (and certainly the most talkative). You'll have to fight him as the blind dragon rants and calls for "his beloved Ocelotte", an imaginary (or invisible) child he seems to have held during his monologue before the start of the fight and during the opening phase.

The Consumed King starts off easy, but the fight becomes much more challenging when he lands on all fours. It will begin charging, using tail sweeps and a freeze breath attack. Getting under him is the best way to win.

The strategy may be simple, but Oceiros does a lot of damage when he makes contact. Mistakes hurt in this fight.

8. Pontiff Sulyvahn

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (18)

Location:Irthyll del Valle Boreal

We hope you're good at parrying - Pontiff Sulyvahn has some of the most unpredictable combos in the game. This shadowy Pope carries two swords and unleashes chains of attacks that range from a few slashes to combos that seem to last for ages, and don't give him much room to breathe between them. To make matters worse, it splits into two enemies in the middle.

Unfortunately, this boss is not optional. You have to go through it if you want to get to the next part of Irithyll.

7. Lothric and Lorian, Major and Minor Princes

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (19)

Location:Lothric Castle

Two bosses are better than one, right? Lothric the Young Prince is a Lord of Cinder and a powerful mage, while his brother Lorian is more of a melee class.

The fight begins with you facing off against Lorian, the eldest prince. He can teleport across the room, striking you with a flaming sword. This part is challenging but manageable. However, defeating Lorian is just the beginning.

The real difficulty starts when you finally take down Lorian: Lothric appears, heals his brother to a full health bar, jumps on his shoulders and starts firing magic homing missiles at you while Lorian teleports back and swings that giant sword.

6. Soul of Ash

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (20)

Location:Furnace of the First Flame

Congratulations! You have reached the final boss! Now just go over.

The Soul of Cinder is an entity that embodies all the Lords of Cinder combined and is the last hurdle you need to overcome in order to win the game.

Start using thefirelink espada longa, but you can exchange it for a spear, curved sword, or staff. He also uses pyromancy and Sunlight Spears for ranged attacks. Then, just when you think you've beaten him, the Soul of the Ashes channels the essence ofgwyn, the original Lord of Cinder and final boss of the firstdark souls🇧🇷 This gives him a full health bar and Gwyn's moveset.

Be especially careful with his five-hit combo. One hit can stun you, which means almost certain death.

5. Demon in Pain e Demon from Below / Demon Prince (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (21)

Location:the pile of garbage

Demon and Pain and Demon from Below are two huge glowing demons. It's a bit like fighting two Vordt at once (if only Vordt had much more HP and could jump and fire blasts of purple energy).

Phase two starts as soon as you defeat both of them. Now you will have to face the Demon Prince, a bigger, meaner and infinitely tougher version of the two demons you just killed. You'll have to deal with flaming punches, orbs that fire flaming projectiles, flaming meteor shower attacks, and of course, his fiery claws. Needless to say, some flame resistant gear will go a long way here.

4. Slave Knight Gale (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (22)

Location:the ringed city

Slave Knight Gale is an ancient armored warrior added to the game as part of The Ringed City DLC. he consumed theDark soul, imbuing him with immense power.

Fighting Slave Knight Gale starts out pretty manageable. He walks on all fours like a beastly foe, and while his charge attack is best avoided, his other attacks are moderately predictable. A cutscene will play with three-quarters health and Gale will get up. He starts throwing boomerang spells and doing more vertical attacks.

With one-third health, enter phase three. This is where the fight becomes truly brutal. AOE lightning spreads across the field. Gale's attacks become relentless as he flies around, lashing out and spewing out explosive souls.

3. Nameless King

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (23)

Location:Archdragon's Peak

The Nameless King is easily the hardest boss fight in vanillablack souls 3, so fans should consider themselves lucky that it's optional.

The fight begins with a battle against the Nameless King, a large skeletal warrior, who attacks him from the back of a flying fire-breathing dragon. You have to kill the dragon before the king fights him one on one. Pretty easy, right?

Wrong. You've just killed the Nameless King's pet, and he's about to face John Wick. His attacks are imbued with lightning, occasionally sending out AOE shockwaves. Landing any kind of blow can be tricky, and your health bar is huge. Any blow to you, however, is potentially fatal.

2. Irmã Friede and Father Ariandel (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (24)

Location:Ariandel's Painted World

Sister Friede is the hardest boss in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC and the second hardest boss in the entire game.

The battle with Sister Friede is another one that has three stages. You start fighting her alone, doing her best to deal damage while she makes virtually non-stop scythe attacks. After you beat her the first time, she will resurrect with full health and join Father Ariandel. The good priest circles the chapel, tapping the floor with his gigantic golden bowl of lava. Friede will also disappear from time to time to heal you both.

Beat all of that and you'll be rewarded with a new and improved Sister Friede wielding two scythes, a more aggressive fighting style, and a much more liberal use of her ice magic. You will need a lot of stamina for this fight. Good luck.

1. It Darkeater (DLC)

Dark Souls 3 bosses ranked from easiest to hardest (25)

Location:the ringed city

Darkeater Madir is an immortal Arch Dragon that was created by the gods. He was given the task of eternally fighting the darkness itself. If anyone fightsblack souls 3will make you throw your controller to the screen, it will be Midir. Other bosses have multiple stages. measurement has multiplesmeetings.

The first is on a cliff where you have to fight a stationary Madir that breathes instant death fire at irregular intervals. It's not easy, but it's only a fraction of the challenge that the second date brings.

Fighting Madir a second time is the hardest battle in the game. Madir is deadly both up close and from a distance, breathing fire across almost any battlefield. He also has a huge pool of health and is incredibly difficult to hit. His tail is one of the easiest low targets. He's also conveniently far away from his fire breath, but he constantly moves it around like a golden retriever; every now and then he even sweeps the floor with it. He also does a random AOE attack composed of concentrated dark energy thatIn truthI don't want to touch you.

It's a long, arduous battle that requires the player to be near perfect at all times. But if you manage to defeat Madir, the #1 boss on our list ofblack souls 3ranked bosses, you can defeat anyone.

Try not to die!
